Presently there are 3 microbiological tests offered by the laboratory. These are Total Coliforms, Total Faecal Coliforms and the Standard Plate Count. The presence of bacteria in any of these tests are a certain indication that there is some form of contamination in the sample and may also indicate the presence of other bacteria responsible for Cholera and other serious illnesses.
