Our laboratory provides a wide range of instrumentation and analytical techniques in various analytical divisions as well as a specialist consulting service.

Inside the LaboratoryThe instrumentation, analytical techniques and personnel skills of the company allow constant development of new analytical methods and has in recent months resulted in analytical achievements unrivalled by other laboratories on the continent.

Our specialists provide consultation on the setup and automation of laboratories, assessments and advice on environmental management programmes, interpretation of analytical results and advice on geological exploration programmes, as well as assistance with laboratory quality systems and ISO/IEC 17025 auditing.

All divisions are supported by the Primary and Secondary Sample Preparation section.

Instrumentation and services not yet available on-site, but at our partner laboratories in South Africa include:

  • Trace Element Division with an ICP-MS for the analysis of various trace elements, classification of waste and the analysis of water and effluent samples
  • Environmental Division with several GC-MS's and an Accelerated Solvent Extractor for the analysis of poly-aromatic hydrocarbons, petroleum hydrocarbons, pesticides, PCB's and persistent organic pollutants (Dioxins and Furans)
  • Coal Division with instruments for rheological and high temperature tests, coking properties and coal petrography
  • XRF InstrumentThe X-Ray Fluorescence Division performs both semi-quantitative evaluations of materials and quantitative  elemental analysis of majors, minors and  traces in complex samples. From metals and rocks to soils and powders, the flexible state-of-the-art XRF systems with powerful software capabilities, allow for analysis of metals, pressed powder briquettes and fusion beads.This division services, amongst others, academic institutions, pilot scale test plants, beneficiation & production plants, geologists, mining operations and various consultants. Matrixes analysed include mineral sands, chromites, clays, coal ashes, geological and exploration samples, raw materials and final products in the cement industry.
We are constantly expanding our services in Tete to reduce the outsourcing of samples to our partner laboratories in South Arica or other laboratories around the world. Please ask any of the contacts listed here for more information.
